ENTRY FORM – ROUND 1: DOCUMENT YOUR BEST PRACTICE

Please submit your entry to the 1^st International Best Practice Competition and GBN’s 1^st Global Benchmarking Award by 5.00pm, Monday 15 October 2012 for Large and Overseas Organisation and 5.00pm, Friday 9 November for New Zealand SMEs. You will receive notification on whether your entry has qualified for “Round 2: Present Your Best Practice” by 22 October.

Note your entry can be saved on the on-line system and edited at a later date but please make sure it is submitted by 15 October. If you have any questions please email: Dr Robin Mann, r.s.mann@massey.ac.nz

To enter the Best Practice Competition complete the on-line entry form or WORD entry form. Describe your good/best practice – this good/best practice may relate to a managerial practice, process, system or initiative within your organization. Try to think of an innovative or beneficial practice that you are proud to share with other organizations. When recording a best practice be specific and focus on one best practice. If a best practice can be broken down into more than one practice consider whether to submit more than one entry. The maximum number of entries is three per organization.

At the bottom of the form you have the option to also enter the Global Benchmarking Award. To enter you need to describe how  benchmarking (comparing and learning from others) is an integral part of your organisation’s improvement and innovation drive.

SECTION 3: FOR ALL TO COMPLETE – YOUR DETAILS

A) If my organisation’s entry is successful in Round 1, we are willing to participate in Round 2 and give a presentation at the World Business Capability Congress on 6 December 2012. We can also give a presentation on 7 December 2012 if we qualify to Round 3. We understand that non-SME entrants (organizations with more than 20 employees) will be required to pay the Best Practice Competition fee of NZ$550 (GST inclusive) by the 10 November – this fee includes up-to 3 entries to the Competition and free registration of one person to the 3 days of the Congress.*

B) I understand that the name of my organization, the best practice title, and the name of the process area will be published on the Congress website should we qualify to Round 2. If we do not qualify we understand that our organization’s name and entry will not be published.*

C) I understand that if we qualify to Round 2 our presentation will be recorded on video, and that all Round 2 participants will be given a copy of all the Best Practice Competition videos. This sharing of videos is in the spirit of sharing best practices between the participant organisations. However, I understand that my organization can opt out from having its presentation recorded or shared with other participants if we notify the organizers prior to or on the day after the presentation. In this case we will not receive a copy of the other participant’s videos. I also understand that the videos from the competition cannot be shared with non-participant organizations without the written consent of the organization(s) that have been videoed. *

D) I understand that the Competition organizers must obtain my permission if it wishes to publish additional information on my organisation’s best practices that has not been addressed in statements B) and C) above. (Note it is likely that the Competition organizers will approach the Best Practice Competition winners for permission to publish their best practices or show their winning presentation on the Congress website, BPIR.com website (a benchmarking and best practice website resource), GBN website (www.globalbenchmarking.org), and other websites).*
